wpl auction 2023 date was 13th of February will be one most Historic day in women’s cricket as Most awaited WPL auction was conducted. Unlike the men’s first IPL auction there is no marquee player list that are retained by WPL team. All the player come directly into the auction.

Franchises came into women IPL auction with total salary cap 12 crore. Every team must buy minimum of 15 players and they could maximum bought 18 players.
Auction started with logo reveals of WPL.
First player came into the women’s ipl auction was Smriti Mandhana she was most expensive in the in the ipl women auction as well RBC got her at 3.4 crores. Ash Gardner Australia allrounder and England allrounder Net Sciver got 3.2 crores. RCB spent nearly 50% of their INR 12 crore purse on three players in the first marquee set, also buying allrounders Sophie Devine at her base price of 50 lakh and Ellyse Perry for 1.7 crore .Allrounder Deepti Sharma was the second-most expensive Indian at INR 2.6 crore She was picked by UP franchise.
Indian women’s Captain Harmanpreet kaur was picked by Mumbai Indians at 1.8 crores.
Jemimah Rodrigues and young India opener Shafali Verma earning Rs 2.2crore deals, Richa Ghos was also picked by RCB at 1.9 crores.

When will be women’s IPL start
The inaugural season of the WPL will be contested by the five franchises from March 4 to 26, with all 22 matches being held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Indian Women’s is currently is in South Africa for T20 world Cup where they beat the archrival Pakistan by 7 wickets on Sunday. If Indian Team will able to will the there maidan title then it will give big boost for Women cricket in India before WPL.
